About La Jolla Networks

La Jolla Networks, Inc.

La Jolla Networks, Inc. (LJN) is an early-stage development company that was incorporated in the State of Delaware in 2000 by Dr. James C. Tiernan. Its mission is to provide to homes, mobile users, and businesses the technology for the lowest-cost, highest-quality broadband digital services, including Internet, telephone, chat, push, television, games and more.

LJN is located in Solana Beach, California, where it has its corporate headquarters and primary engineering facility.

Wi-BUS™, La Jolla Networks’ proprietary, patented technology, can be applied to the UHF band over the existing worldwide UHF infrastructure to exchange digital media at speeds 10 times faster, at one-third the price, and with greater reliability than existing methods.

The Company’s business strategy focuses on UHF band applications, but Wi-BUS™ is appropriate for any digital broadcast media that does not require an established protocol (RF at all frequencies [VHF, UHF, Mobile, and unlicensed GHZ bands], satellite, cable, LAN, and fiber). This general applicability of the protocols allows an operator to pick the media that is ideal for their specific applications within the planned network and allows for networks to interact across media.

La Jolla Networks has an international patent for “System and Method for Scalable Multifunctional Network Communication.” This patent is the Company’s core technology. This SMSMNC patent addresses the Wi-BUS™ network control structure. It claims 73 points of art. The Patent Cooperative Treaty Organization (PCT) has given a favorable examination report on SMSMNC to its approximately 130 national members. Its member states include the US and all other major industrial powers. The patent examination was conducted by the US Patent Office. The Eurasian Regional patent office, representing 9 countries, including Russia, has given notice that the patent will be granted. Other PCT countries are in various stages of examining the patent.

Applications are also being considered in five countries not covered by the PCT patent, including China. LJN is confident about the approval and issuance of this patent throughout the world. LJN is also in the process of applying for a number of additional patents to extend and deepen its IP portfolio.
